Upgrades can boost the value of certain numeric stats on weapons, armor and rings. They also increase bonuses such as crit chance and PvE damage.

Components

Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armor and trinkets to provide them with a boost in stats or add a bonus effect. They can be obtained through crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Certain upgrades also come with specific cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on equipment that has a slot. The item must be upgraded to blue level before the component can be applied. Upgrade components, unlike other mods can only be applied once. They are not able to be replaced or applied several times. Infusions and enrichments are a special kind of upgrade component that is used for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment as well as the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging gear that is ascended or completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

A suffix or prefix can be added to an upgrade, changing the name of the item it is applied to (for example, 'Canthan Armor Insignia,' becomes Canthan Armor Minor Vigor). Some upgrades increase the Mark Level or Rarity of an item upgrader, which lets players create stronger versions with less Upgrade crystals than they would need to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade can alter the defense or attack properties of a weapon, or armor. These upgrades are available to be made from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed Mechanic. They can be dropped by enemies when upgrading other gear, or by buying them in the cash shop for 500 upgrade crystals per.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be revealed in the next reset. This gives the player an incentive to keep upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of how much it will improve after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be expensive, and there is a significant possibility that the item upgrader mod will be obsolete or even break when it fails; a failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of the Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll require them to be placed on your equipment. Leveling

The item upgrading system allows players to increase the stats of specific items by putting upgraded components in them. This is commonly known as "upping". Each item level requires different components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Each Upgrade Recipe that is completed will result in a certain amount of Technology points. When a player upgrades an item it is replaced with a different item of the same kind. This means that the same piece of armor will be transformed into a weapon or shield when upgraded. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained, such as the chance to crit, attack damage, or additional effects (such as a higher healing rate over time or reloading speed). However, the player may still continue to use the weapon or armor after the failure.

Whenever an item is upgraded the upgrades are applied from lowest to highest. This means that if a weapon gains an increase in the chance of crit it will be applied prior to any increase in attack damage. The amount of resources required to upgrade an item is based on its rarity rating and the number of upgrade slots.
