Cheap single wheel stroller Pushchairs
If you're on a tight budget and don't want a stroller that doubles up as a car seat carrier, the Babyzen Yoyo is a good option. It has a simple, one-step foot brake that's flip flop comfortable.
It's also easy to push and feels sturdy when navigating kerbs or woodland paths. Additionally, it's easy to fold.
1. Babyzen YOYO2
The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the ultimate light-weight single buggy with buggy board for jet-setters and city dwellers alike, thanks to its extremely nimble handling and fold that fits in the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. This latest version boasts independent suspension on all four wheels, made of Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate through all kinds of surfaces and terrain'.
The bent fabric bassinet, base YOYO2 frame and 6+ months colour pack combine to create a stylish pushchair that has a soft elegant look. The frame's weight is less than a kilo, and is so lightweight that you can lift it out of the box with one hand.
The hood, for instance is able to snap onto the YOYO2 with a reassuring manner. It's also machine washable up to 30 degrees which helps avoid staining caused by smushed and mashed carrot puffs and rice cakes. The Newborn Pack and bassinet can be used from birth as an infant stroller. It could also be converted to a stroller by 6 months by using the YOYO connect other chassis.
2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore
Evenflo Pivot Xplore stroller wagon is an excellent choice for parents who are looking for a stroller that is versatile. It transforms from a single wheel stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, so parents can choose the option they want to use on their journey. The wagon can be used by one or two children from 6 months to 5 years old, and it comes with a large storage basket that can accommodate everything you require on the go.
The Xplore has two canopies that can rotate from front to back, offering adequate sun protection for the entire family. It has a smaller footprint than some wagons. This may not be ideal for long drives or napping.
The frame of the Xplore wagon feels solid and sturdy but it doesn't bend as much as other wagons we have test. It is also more difficult to fold than many of the competitors and does not close tightly when folded. It is easy to move however, and fits through narrow doors of 28 inches.
3. Delta Children LX Side by Side
This basic double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent option for parents who want a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It scored well in our Strollers and Multiples Test for weight and fold dimensions, which means it's lightweight, compact single stroller when folded, and easy to carry and put into a car trunk. It also features an adjustable recline seat that can be adjusted in multiple positions and an integrated cup holder for the parent. Other key features include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels as well as two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.
It performed better in our push and turn test than a lot of the strollers we tested, but it is still difficult to maneuver over uneven ground or through narrow doors. Its sunshades are among the smallest we tested, offering only direct overhead coverage, and no peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.
It took us less than 3 minutes to put together the Delta with a standard manual. The parts are all non-required and required tools. However, it's missing some critical features that we believe it is important to consider as non-negotiable features in a double stroller, like a large basket and reclining seats with adjustable leg rests.
4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1
The Zelia is the latest version of Maxi-Cosi's pushchair range and is described as an urban travel system. It is designed to carry infants from birth until around 3.5 years old, and can be converted between a carrycot and seat with only a few clicks. It can also be used with Maxi-Cosi capsule car seats, and comes with the light Mico 30 infant car seat, a stay-in-car base and a reversible carriage.
The seat reclines with one hand, and the large shopping basket makes it simple for parents to get their child in and out. Although it is narrow, the pushchair handled the everyday bumps with ease and was able to pass through doorways without a hitch.
The front wheels are able to be locked in a forward position, or they can pivot. This is useful when navigating rough terrain. We allowed the front wheels to rotate during our walk on a stony path. It handled the situation well, although it seemed to be a bit more bumpy.
5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2
Baby Jogger is most well-known for its 3-wheeled all-terrain, jogging strollers. However, they also produce a wide variety of pushchairs that have four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It is easy to use and folds down small enough to fit in the car boot, even with the carrycot attached.
It's heavier than other strollers we tested, but because it comes with rubber composite wheels it feels sturdy and well-made. It is easy to maneuver on various terrains and even with two kids as well as a shopping bag and other things.
The carrycot and seat both have hoods with pull-down sun canopy extensions that are UV50+. They are sturdy and waterproof, in contrast to other hoods for prams that can be blown back into toddlers faces.
It doesn't have a lot of storage space, but it does have a big basket that's large enough to fit a changing bag as well as plenty of groceries. It can also be used with the Baby Jogger car seat for babies who weigh 20 pounds or less (car seat and adapters are available separately). If you are looking for a stroller that can be used on the road, the City Tour 2 is an excellent option.
6. Nuna Mixx Next
When the Nuna Mixx first appeared on the scene it stole the hearts of parents all over the world. It's a stroller made of aluminum which can be used from the infant's earliest days through. It comes with a variety of notable features, including the ability to flip the seat to be parent-facing and world-facing, a large UPF 50+ canopy with an eye shade that flips out as well as a large basket and adjustable handlebar.
The chassis comes with a suspension system built-in which reduces the impact of bumpy terrain. The wheels are made from tough foam and minimise punctures. It was easy to push and our test driver was able manoeuvre the vehicle through the narrow streets.
It folds down in four easy steps and locks automatically with no fuss. It can also be folded and repositioned for easy transport down the stairs, or in the trunk of the car. The travel system comes available with the option of adding an additional car seat or carrycot by using the adaptors that are included. The brakes are easy to use with single lightweight stroller action, colour coded and flip-flop-friendly.
7. Babyzen Duet
This budget single pushchair is surprisingly easy to maneuver and has excellent dual suspension, a one-hand fold, and a handy carry strap. It's also super lightweight and sturdy. The seat can be reclined in several positions. It is equipped with a double-breathable mattress that can be used from birth.
The canopy/seat features two extra-large fixed or flip out sun visors, both of which are UPF50+. The toggle closure isn't the best because it's not as quiet as Velcro, and can awaken napping babies.
The Duet is an angled stroller that can be used by twins or siblings. (Up to 22kg per seat). It is compatible with two infant car seats and some carrycots. In twin mode, the seats can face one another or rotate around to face parents, theoretically cutting down on sibling rivalries over who should sit with mom and dad. It comes with a big tray for gears with a bottle holder as well as snack tray. It also has an automated frame lock and a compact fold.
8. Baby Jogger Urban Glide 2
The Thule Urban Glide 2 is a jogger designed for parents who want to keep active. It's one of the lightest running strollers you can purchase for your child. It also comes with amazing safety features, including a 5-point harness as well as a safety wrist strap. It comes with a different kind of hand brake unlike other models that is an interesting twist.
The seat is padded and provides plenty of space to sit. However, the seat isn't as deep as those of other runners (it's only about 10") The storage bin comes with an open-top cover that can be closed to keep things secure. It can hold 10 lbs. This is enough for the majority of diaper bags.
The Urban Glide 2 doesn't come with adapters to fit most bassinets and infant car seats, but you can use them from the first day with adapters that will fit brands such as BOB, Graco Combi Evenflo Britax UPPAbaby. It is simple to fold and assemble in 5-10 minutes without any tools. The instruction manual is easy to comprehend and contains multiple languages.
