WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost in certain stats. Each upgrade increases the level of an item level upgrade by +3. A random extra substat is also added to each upgrade.
The upgraded gear is usually more useful, unless the item has a low requirement by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a high variance in stats (like the eth Titan weapons). Upgrades aren't as useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll the perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader allows players to upgrade gear to a higher level by supplying the appropriate currency to the NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of weapon or armor. However, the item that is used for the upgrade will be consumed for the duration of time and can't be used again. Upgrades can also be applied to the enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in all major cities and is accessible at any time to upgrade your equipment. To keep your gear up-to-date, it is recommended that you visit the upgrader each few weeks.
Upgrades will cost more, based on the item upgrader mod level, but they will always be less expensive than purchasing new gear. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to 385 ilvl will cost you 20 recycle points. A similar item upgrade will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players through item upgrader NPCs in exchange for different currencies, and can be found in random treasure lists. Once purchased, an upgrade can be applied to any tool, weapon or armor. button, which displays an image of the item at the next upgrade level when the player has enough materials.
The cost of upgrades varies based on the item slot and current item level as well as the level of the weapon, which is more than bracers or gloves, for instance. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades offering discounts to reduce the cost of Flightstones or the crests used. Once an Best item upgrader has been upgraded to a certain level, it can be degraded and returned to the upgrader for a lower amount of the two currencies.
Upgraders for items are available in a variety of locations including the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the possibility of obtaining the latest recipe. The upgrade discount increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It can also be increased by having players complete specific achievements or complete quests.
Unlike Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no upgrader for items available in the beginning of Icewind Dale. The NPCs who can facilitate upgrades are available only through a variety means. This is both a benefit and a disadvantage.
In Season 3, several new features have been added to the upgrade system. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of Best item upgrade for an armor slot, upgrading other items to the same level, will cost less. This applies even if the items come from an entirely different set of equipment.
The discount is available to all accounts. In the same way, the amount of Harbinger Crests required for upgrades is also cut and is not available until players reach certain milestones in their achievement.
Crests
When it comes to upgrading gear in WoW players have a variety of options. Flightstones are an item that is available to everyone who wants to upgrade. Crests are more special and are utilized during specific item level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
The first thing to remember is that Crests are only available to equipment that is that is of a particular rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The easiest and most straightforward upgrade is 15 crests. The most complex upgrade requires up to 20 crests, contingent on the type of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests by working through content that is of the appropriate level, whether that involves walking around and performing outdoor activities to get lower-tier gear, raids or dungeons of any difficulty for higher-tier items, or Mythic+ dungeons or heroic raid bosses for endgame gear. Crests can be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, like Cuzolth in Dornogal, or Vaskarn in Valdrakken, for the appropriate upgrade pathways and steps.
The new currency system isn't too difficult to use, however it will bring some changes to the process of upgrading. For instance, once a piece of equipment reaches the highest upgrade level of any rank (Explorer, Adventurer, Veteran, Champion, Hero, or Mythic), it won't require Flightstones to be upgraded. This change is intended to allow players to get their equipment to the highest level possible for all their characters instead of relying only on seasonal loot.
Another notable change is that crests have one usage therefore it's essential to use them wisely. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests with the Best item upgrade gear you have available and save Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to create. This is particularly applicable to rings and trinkets that take up multiple slots on the character which will only be able to take advantage of the account-wide discount if all slots are full of high-quality equipment.
