World of Warcraft Item Upgrades
The upgrade of your items is a vital part of equipping your character. Upgrades boost damage to items and the ability to enchant.
They also provide rewards and upgrades. They can be purchased through the Blacksmith.
The upgrade button is located on any item. Every item recycled adds level to the gauge for upgrading.
Weapons
When a weapon is upgraded, it will gain a base damage bonus as well as a scaling factor that influences other stats. Certain upgrade components have cosmetic effects and others provide additional benefits. These upgrades can be slotted into armor, weapons trinkets, or gathering tools, and most require that the equipment have an available upgrade slot and meet certain specifications. The upgrade component can be removed from a weapon, armor or trinket, however it will not be replaced. (Except for legendary equipment). Upgrade components can be recovered using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or an Ascended Salvage Tool, or by using a salvage tool of high-end quality on the item itself.
A weapon can also be upgraded to include a Calibration attribute that boosts certain stats, like Weakspot damage or Crit Rate. This is accomplished through the Gear Workbench's interaction menu. This can be repeated four times depending on the weapon level.
After the weapon has reached its maximum upgrade and is then reforged to add different effects and bonuses or to boost specific stats. All of these upgrades can be applied at once and their effects will depend on how rare the weapon is.
Two Blacksmiths can be upgraded in the game: Blacksmith Iji on the Road to the Manor Site of Grace and Smithing Master Hewg at the Church of Elleh hub. Both upgrade materials differ: Smithing Stones to modify the type of damage that weapons deal and Somber Smithing Stones to modify standard weapons.
In general, it's Best Item upgrade to upgrade your weapon damage first. Then you can improve your armour defense and, finally those secondary stats required by your build. Particularly, it is common to see melee druids upgrade their weapon before any other gear, as this can increase DPS. This is especially applicable to enchantments, which can be extremely effective in boosting the damage of a weapon and other stats.
Armor
Item upgrades allow players to increase the stats base of certain pieces of armor weapons, trinkets, trinkets and gathering tools. These upgrades may also have additional effects such as increased damage or cosmetic enhancements. Item upgrades can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from NPC vendors, through loot drops, or as rewards for quests.
The armor can be upgraded by visiting the Armorer NPC and spending appropriate currency. Most of the time an item of armor can be upgraded to the next tier once an upgrade item is applied. Most types of armor can be upgraded, however some items (such as the starter armour in Great Sky Island) cannot.
The majority of armor upgrades boost the strength or defense of an item upgrader kit by a small amount. Some upgrades, however, can result in significant increases in strength or defense. This is especially the case when upgrading epic items.
In addition to increasing the base defense of an item, certain upgrades also offer specific abilities that can be activated when wearing an armor. These abilities can be useful in combat, such as granting a buff to attack speed or blocking. Certain upgrades can have passive effects that are useful, such as the ability to reduce damage while wearing armor or enhancing the chance of avoiding an attack.
Upgrades to armor can require several attempts, depending on the type. For example for instance, if a player wants to upgrade a Steelclash armor to Dragonscale, the first attempt would result in a new piece of Dragonscale with a base defense between 59 and 67. The second attempt will result in a brand new Dragonscale armor with a base defense between 67-77 and the list goes on.
The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild lets players upgrade their armor sets up to level 4. To do so players must visit each of the four locations known as Great Fairy Fountains in the game. Each of these locations holds a powerful fairy who can upgrade one piece of armor for the player.
Contrary to popular belief, armor in The Division 2 is not in any way useless. Certain armors provide a significant increase in the ability to reduce the damage caused by poison, curse, magic, or fire. This makes them useful for certain types of builds. Additionally, there are ways to boost armor stats beyond the use of upgradeable armor such as the engineer trait to increase armor penetration, or the challenger trait to reduce the weight of the entire armor.
Potion
By placing a potion on the brewing stand, you can unlock new effects. The upgrade unlocks a new level of effects from the potion and is able to be repeated to unlock more potencies.
The potions also get the ability to select a custom color that can be chosen by the player via /give. The color affects the area-of-effect clouds as well as the arrows that are generated. In Bedrock Edition, the custom color of the potion also affects the effects of the potion's particle effects.
The water bottle, the mundane and thick potions, as well as awkward potions, now have a new the texture of brewing. In the Creative Inventory the potion healing and weakness are now available. Added lingering potions that can be brewed with dragon breath or splash potions and a strong potion with the status effect of Mining Fatigue (duration 4:45). Issues relating to this update are tracked on the Bug Tracker.
