Path of Exile Item Upgrading

Item upgrading allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear with new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or giving additional benefits. To upgrade items, the player must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Items that have weak bases, such as rings, can be upgraded into more robust bases. Items with strong bases, like eth Titans have little change in their stats.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and gathering tools, providing an attribute bonus or additional effect while the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, retrieved in loot from enemies, or gotten from chests or missions. Some upgrades additionally have special cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require that the equipment be at a certain level to upgrade.

To upgrade a weapon, armor or other item in the game, players will have to select it and click the Upgrade button on the toolbar. The screen will show on the right-hand side of the screen a preview that shows the expected upgrade statistics and the required component or materials.

There are three types: universal upgrades (which include gems) Prefix upgrades and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which comprise gems, are able to be used in any type of equipment, and offer lower bonuses than upgrade components that are type-restricted. Infusions are jewels that can only be used in equipment that is legendary or ascended. They offer the same benefits as jewels, but they cannot be used in any other equipment. Suffix upgrades can be added to gathering tools. They will add the suffix at the end of item names. For example adding the suffix Glyph would make a Staff wrapping of Minor Vigor into a Canthan staff wrapping of Minor Vigor.

If an individual upgrades a gathering tool, and then replaces glyphs with another glyph the previous one will be returned to their inventory. However, replacing any other upgrade component will destroy it, with the exception of the inscriptions that can be swapped.

Leveling

Path of Exile's upgrade system differs from previous versions in some important ways. Gear is now divided into tracks and items can only be upgraded a certain number of times before they're "leveled out." The upgrade costs increase with each level, but the materials required do not. This lets players focus their efforts on a few key items and maximize their impact instead of spreading the upgrade costs across multiple items.

Once an item has been finished being leveled and is leveled out, it will be able to receive a new set of upgrade components, and an increase in the probability that the upgrade will succeed. This bonus is referred to as the Artisan's Energy, and it resets to 0 on failure or increases when the upgrade is successful.

When a piece is upgraded to its maximum level, it is able to get affixes to boost its attributes. The amount of affixes available will depend on the item's class. For example an uncommon or unique weapon with a base that is standard will have only two affixes. A legend armor will have eight affixes.

Each upgrade step will require a specific amount of Flightstones or Crests, depending on the type of item upgrade at its current level, and in which slot it is located in. Weapons will typically require more Flightstones than other equipment.

If an item is not able to attain its maximum level, the NPC will give players the option to transfer it to another character and then re-infuse it with another set of upgrades. This process can take up to two hours and will cost the same amount of material however it will have less chance of success.

Engineers utilize a level to measure the height of the building with an established point, like an existing benchmark. This is referred to as a "level-loop." It involves taking readings with the level, backsighting rod and then turning the level to take the foresighting rod reading. This method ensures that buildings are constructed to a high standard of safety and accuracy.

Rerolling

Rerolling is the process of changing the upgrade components of an item upgrades. It is an important aspect of the game and can dramatically improve an item's strength and damage as well as other attributes. This can be done via the menu for items or by using the Reroll button on an upgraded item upgrader kit. Rerolling an item can be costly and should be used sparingly.

The game allows players to recycle upgraded items, which are used to obtain tokens for rerolls. These tokens can then be used to upgrade the original item, or to upgrade another item of the same type. Recyclable items have an indicator that indicates the amount of upgrade. The rarity and cost of upgrading an item will determine the amount of level filled.

Prior to this, certain upgrade items were given priority affixes, which made them easier for players to roll. This meant that you would receive the stats that mattered most to your build often than other. These included things such as the armor's total armor, thorns and control impaired duration reduction stats or the weapon's bonus attack speed and critical strike chance.

This has changed since the latest patch. Priority affixes are no longer required and all upgrades will have the same chance of rolling for each stat. This could be good or bad, based on what you're looking to get from your equipment.

Each upgraded item can come with a unique, fixed-value bonus that increases its strength by a certain percentage. These bonuses are added to the normal affixes. The more you improve an item, the higher chances of obtaining an exclusive bonus.

The game also comes with number sets that grant the player a bonus if three or four upgraded items from the set are equipped on an unit. This is a good method of giving a character a lot more power without spending a lot of money.

Many players opt to reroll their equipment and weapons, particularly in the beginning stages of the game. Rerolling is a way to gain a stronger character quicker, which enables you to progress in the game and reach higher levels.

Sets

Sets are collections that can be set up differently. They can be of different dimensions, have none of the elements, or have a single element. They can be utilized to organize data or sort information. They can also be used for analyzing patterns. Sets can be categorized in many ways, such as by size and shape.

The Legend of Zelda Tears of the Kingdom offers an array of set items that can be upgraded. Certain items are worth upgrading while others aren't. Sets of armor that offer high defense or set bonuses are typically worth upgrading. Upgrades to weapons aren't as effective in boosting stats as their purple counterparts. This makes them less attractive to upgrade if you own lots of armor pieces or weapons.

Set items can be upgraded to include unique functions that are beneficial for specific builds. This is evident in Aldur's Advance Boots and Guillaume's Face. Both were upgraded to Extraordinary Winged Helms and Exceptional Mirrored Boots, respectively. This increased their defense from 217 to 321. (Strength requirements and Level requirements were also increased).

Another reason to upgrade certain items is to bring them into the same level with their levels. For example, the Immortal King set has a wide range of levels, ranging from 29 to 76. Upgrades to lower-level items can increase their defense and improve their performance when it comes to damage.

To determine if an item is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button on the character screen. The item's attributes will be displayed as well as any necessary items. For instance the No-mouth face will require 1.1K Scrap Materials, 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards to upgrade. Alternately, players can go to the Leaderboard or Golden vendor in Cyrodiil to check the requirements for upgrading specific items.

In general, weapons and armor have higher value when fully updated. Especially for weapons that have damage glyphs for spells or weapons, upgrading them to gold is recommended because it will give a substantial increase in their power. The armor that has a new appearance will also benefit from this because its defense will increase when it goes from purple to gold.
