1. Engine Speed Sensor

The sensor is located at the edge of the transmission just above the flywheel ring gear, the G28 Engine Speed Sensor sends a signal to ECU pin T55/49 via an uncolored wire. The ECU uses this information to control fuel and boost. It also sends an indication to the G5 tachometer in the instrument cluster.

The sensor serves as a reference to correlate with the G40 Camshaft Position Sensor. The ecu has to be aware of when the crankshaft has reached TDC and also where the camshaft lies to trigger the spark and injectors.

In the morning, i removed the spark plugs, three were soaked with gazoline and the 4th one was dry. I put tissue over each injector hole, and when i start the engine with no sparks, the three that have gazoline pop right out. The 4th one stays shut. I tried to test the ground connections of ECU pins 14,30, and 48/55. I got 0ohm. So i assume the problem is in another place.

I also tried to reset the PID with no success. The car will start when the G28 is unplugged and it runs perfectly when it is plugged in, but still has intermittent misfire issues at higher RPM. The coolant sensor (G62) even when unplugged, still shows an ice temperature of -49c. I also noticed that the oil gauge in the cockpit shows 2 bar while the actual pressure is zero.

I don't know what to do. I feel like i've pretty much all other possibilities out. I'm worried that i might have missed something. Please let me know if you have any ideas! TIA!

3. Fuel Pump

The fuel pump in the g28 is activated by a signal from the RPM sensor. The GM-style sender is identical to the G4 and both function in the 80 100 200, UrS and RS2 cars which is why you can easily locate one at a junkyard or from a parts store. Test them out by putting your DMM in resistance mode and measure between pins 1 (with the bump on the connector's side up) and 2 (2nd from left on the black end of the connector). 4. ECU
