About Toto
Toto was formed in the year 1976 by guitarists Jeff Porcaro, David Paich (who at the time were also famous studio musicians with Boz Scaggs) and singer/bassist Bobby Kimball. The group's name was derived from the Latin word that translates to "all-encompassing" and was determined to explore every musical style.
In 1981 Toto's third album Turn Back was a complete failure, but they rebound with their fourth release Isolation that features two hits, including the title track and Roseanna. The album and the tour made them a household brand across the globe.
After a hiatus of a couple of years, Toto return with the album Fahrenheit in the year 1986. It's a change from the ballads of their previous albums and includes some heavy rock. The album was their first to be certified platinum in North America.
In the course of recording the fifth album, the group loses its manager and faces financial difficulties. They decide to change their name and create a new album with a new producer.
