World of Warcraft Upgrades and Item Upgrading

Upgrades increase the value of certain numeric statistics on armor, weapons and rings. Upgrades can also boost bonuses like Crit chance and PvE Damage.

If the weapon's upgrade template is in %, the weapon will increase 3percent of its previous damage for each time it is upgraded.

The cost for upgrading items increases when they reach the item's current level. The cost rises with item's level.

Components

Upgrade components are items that can be inserted into weapons, armor, and trinkets in order to provide an extra stat boost or effect while they're in use. These can be obtained by crafting, purchasing from vendors, trading with other players, or looting. Some upgrades also have special cosmetic effects.

Upgrade components can only be used on devices that have slots. The item must be at least upgraded to a blue level before the component can be applied. Unlike other mods, upgrade components can only be used one time; they cannot be applied repeatedly or replaced with new upgrades. Infusions and enrichments are a specific kind of upgrade component that is that is designed for non-amulet ascended and legendary equipment and some of the back items that are not ascending. Infusions and enrichments are recovered by salvaging ascended gear or by completing an elite mission in the Prophecies, Factions and Nightfall campaigns.

An upgrade item could have a prefix or suffix that alters the name of the item to the upgrade (for examplethe "Canthan Armor Insignia' becomes Canthan Armor of Minor Vigor). Certain upgrades can increase the Mark Rarity or Level of an item, allowing players create stronger versions with the smallest amount of Upgrade crystals than they require to reach the same level using standard methods.

A boost upgrade is a way to modify the attack or defense characteristics of a weapon or armor. These upgrades are available to be crafted from the Portative Forging Station once the player has completed the cutscene, and defeats the Crazed mechanic. These upgrades can be obtained by purchasing them from the cash shop, or by obtaining them from enemies when upgrading other gear.

Each upgrade increases the likelihood that a higher tier version of an item will be available during the next reset. This gives the player some incentive to continue upgrading their gear even if they're uncertain of the extent to which it will increase after a future reset.

The boost upgrade may be successful or not, the process may be costly, and there is a substantial possibility that the item will be obsolete or even break when it fails. A failure to upgrade can cause the destruction of Upgrade Crystals and Assist Powder as well as the upgraded item. This is mitigated by the availability of cash shop items to double or even eliminate chance of failure, as well as some upgrades that offer a bonus when reinserted into an item.

Glyphs

Glyphs are upgrade components that can be inserted into special sockets on the Paragon Board. Glyphs boost the power of all nodes in their radius and include pre-existing affixes to equipment. Glyphs are upgraded in many ways. We recommend upgrading them as quickly as possible up to 15 levels.

In the final game you'll often discover that the best way to enhance your gear is by placing Glyphs. These are the only upgrade components which can be upgraded to level 15 and offer a significant boost to your power on the Paragon Board.

Glyphs, which is the only upgrade component that can be removed without restriction and then replaced again are the most popular. The only exception is legendary equipment that requires an Black Lion Salvage Kit to salvage and re-place.

The value of each Glyph is displayed when you choose it in your inventory. You can replace it with an Glyph that is the same or higher rank to boost the value of the Glyph.

You can find Glyphs in the Black Lion Trading Post, as part of a Gem Store purchase or bundle with certain unlimited-use gathering tools and also through Faction Crypt raids. Every Faction Crypt can drop one of these Glyphs. There are some rare glyphs that you can find in any of the Faction Crypts.

Once you have gotten the desired Glyphs you'll need them to be placed on your gear. Each Glyph unlocks a bonus that will boost the stats of a specific set of nodes within a radius around the Glyph. Depending on the Glyph the bonus will be +40 to one of your primary stats or +25 to two of your secondary stats.

Glyphs will boost all nodes that are connected to them, so it is Best item upgrader to put Glyphs in key locations on the Graph. This will maximize the impact. Druids, for example, should place their Glyphs close to their primary damage nodes. They might be able to place them near their most critical damage nodes.

Leveling

The upgrade system for items allows players to boost the stats of specific items by introducing upgraded components. This is also known as "upping". Every upgradeable item has a level, which determines its final upgraded stats. Upgraded items can be leveled up to a maximum of ilvl 385. Each level of item requires various components, and the cost of upgrading increase with each level.

Some upgrades require an ingredient to be activated. This ingredient is obtained by completing Upgrade Recipes. These recipes can be purchased from NPCs or found on the upgrade tab of a crafting table. Each Upgrade Recipe completed results in a certain amount of Technology points. These points can be used for upgrading an item. Once enough points are earned you will be eligible to claim the upgrade and receive its additional bonuses.

When a player upgrades an item, the base item is replaced by a new item of the same type. The same armor can be transformed into a weapon or a shield when upgraded. The new item will have its own set bonus. This can be a disadvantage because it can cause the item to become more expensive if you don't require it.

Item upgrades can sometimes be rerolled if the player has enough tokens to be able to do this. The item will be replaced by the same item, but it has a base of level 1 and totally different bonuses. This can be useful however it should not be repeated often since it could waste resources.

Some upgrades can be rerolled many times which increases their value and allowing the player to customize their equipment. An excellent example is Dolphin's Gift, which gives an advantage when a player is repeatedly in and out of the water (or is able to swim like dolphins). It can be upgraded multiple times, each time raising the max roll by 10 points. This item can be very valuable in PvP as the Best item upgrade version of it could be worth between 20 and 50x its non-upp'd value.

Requirements

The ability to upgrade items allows players to boost the level of their equippable equipment--armor, weapons, and trinkets that are above ilvl 385 by providing the appropriate items and currencies to an item upgrader NPC. Upgrading armor set pieces will also increase the base defense of the piece, whereas upgrading weapons will increase the damage base and required strength and dexterity to meet the upgraded equipment's requirements.

All items are upgradeable up to five times, except for hero equipment, which is able to be upgraded eight times. Each time you upgrade an item, it is given a chance to fail--the rate of failure increases as you exceed the maximum amount of upgrades. Failures can cause the item to revert to its initial state, requiring the player to spend more money on materials than they would have to had they stopped upgrading at the maximum amount of upgrades.

If an item isn't upgraded the experience bar on its growth bar will be reset to zero. The item will also lose any bonuses it gained like chances to be crit damage to attack, other effects (such as increased heal over time, or reloading speed). The player can continue to use their weapon or armor even after the failure.

When an item is upgraded, the upgrades are applied from the lowest to highest. This means that when a weapon is upgraded, if it increases its crit chance, the increase will be applied prior to any damage from attacks increases. Slots is a brand new attribute that has been added to item definitions. The value is recalculated every time an upgrade occurs.

The amount of resources needed to upgrade an item is determined by its rarity rating and upgrade slot count. The cost for upgrading non-premium products is equal to the base value of the upgrade--for instance, a typical equipment item might have 5 upgrades at a cost of 25600 Technology Points 4x Quality Improvement Opportunity. Hero grade items are less expensive per upgrade.

Premium items might have different upgrade requirements from standard gear. For example they may require fewer sowels, but more minerals and orons. Players will still have to carry every piece of gear they want to upgrade to NPC [Armor] Boboko located in Central Flarine. Each upgrade item to equipment will require different amounts of upgrade ingredients in addition to the cost listed above.
