Upgrade components can be added to weapons, armors trinkets, weapons and gathering tools. They give you an attribute bonus, or an additional benefit, while the equipment is being used. They can be purchased from vendors, found as loot gathered by enemies or obtained from chests or missions. Some upgrades have additional cosmetic effects. If an item fails to attain its maximum level, the NPC gives the player the choice to transfer it to a different character and re-infuse the item with a different set or upgrades.
