Boosters
With an item upgrader, you can get a number of bonuses. They can include stats, as well as bonus bonuses. These bonuses can be incorporated into weapons or armor, as well as trinkets. They can be used to enhance the capabilities of a character, or they can be used to add an element of variety to a build.
The World of Warcraft upgrade system allows players to upgrade their gear by paying currency at an item upgrader. This system was first introduced in Mists of Pandaria, and continued in Warlords Of Draenor. It is a convenient way to increase the level of your equipment, allowing you to avoid the tedious grind of completing quests and avoid many wipes in Mythic+ dungeons.
When an item is upgraded the type of item upgrades it is upgraded to. Upgrading a normal item will create an Exceptional item while upgrading an Exceptional item will result in an Elite version of the base item. The item will retain the stats it had prior to upgrading, and will also receive an additional bonus of its new base type. This bonus will be randomly selected from the following: the chance to acquire a weapon with an increased damage range or an increased reload speed or a chance to acquire an improved defense roll.
The amount of extras gained when upgrading depends on the amount of upgrades performed. Each upgrade will increase the extras in question by a factor of one, up to a maximum of 3. Each upgrade will also boost the stats in the main menu by +1.
Some upgrades also give you an additional random boost in addition to stat boosts. These boosts are important and should be considered when deciding what items to upgrade. Some of these boosts are only useful in specific builds (such as Whistan's shield for FB sorcs) while others could provide significant value to certain collectors.
Certain items come with a built-in boos which is less useful when upgraded. For example the Goldwrap has an extra potion slots. They are often upgraded to add more value to a close-to-perfect or perfect item.
Costs
Upgrades come with a few associated costs. The first is the upgrade itself. The cost for this upgrade can be costly and is dependent on the new level of the item as well as the number perks it gains. It can also be expensive to upgrade an item to a better tier (such as Explorer > Champion, or Veteran > Heroic).
The second is the cost of the materials needed to upgrade. The items used for upgrades are usually either Power Dices (dropped by monsters 21and up) or Minerals and Erons (obtainable by completing specific Mists of Pandaria or Warlords of Draenor quests). The amount of these items required can be seen in the inventory of an upgrade vendor.

Rarely, the perks obtained will cost more than one perk slot to acquire In these cases the upgrade will replace the perks with the highest cost. Occasionally, the upgrader will make other changes to an item, for example, changing the type of weapon damage or removing or adding an unwieldy or operative property. The cost for these changes is based on the item level upgrade's new ilvl, and it may require a specific material like the adamantine alloy.
Success Rate
The upgrading of an item is dependent on the chance. Like any random system there is a chance that it won't work. However there are a few things which can improve the chance of success. This includes the use of an item dubbed an Upgrade Pity or the addition of additional materials to the upgrade.
An Upgrade Pity is a product you can buy from the smithing NPC in Lost Ark. It increases the chances of the upgrade being successful by a percentage. This is similar to the luck bonus certain items offer but is more reliable. It can be added to any weapon or armor, and can be used up to three times.
You can also add additional materials to the upgrade to increase the chance of success. These materials are displayed in a window located above the + button. However, there are some limitations to this, and the largest amount of material that can be added is shown right above the + button in the user interface.
Another way to increase the chances of an upgrade achieving success is by using an item called a Blacksmith Blessing or an upgraded version of it. This item is helpful in the event that you have a weapon or piece of equipment that is at the highest level for its tier or is close to it. It will allow you to upgrade that piece of equipment to the next level without risking breaking.
If an upgrade is unsuccessful it will be restored to its original condition. This is usually an error, but it could also be a downgrade. You should save an upgrade until you are nearing the maximum level of an item upgrader mod.
Kafra has a range of items that can be used to increase the chance of an upgrade succeeding. In the same way, increasing the likelihood to receive a Double Mint from Shoe-Minting a maximum of five times will increase the chance of success.
Failure Rate
The upgrader for items allows players to add an additional slot in their equipment. The slots can be used to upgrade an item or apply an enchantment. It is important to remember that not all items can be upgraded. The rank of an item will determine the speed at which it can be upgraded and enhanced. The higher the item's rank is, the more Zeny items will be required to upgrade it.
The system is expensive, especially if you are looking for top-quality gear. Upgrades to armor and weapons can cost as much as 100,000 z or 100 Carnium. The chance of success also decreases as you progress in rank. However, you can use cash shop items to increase your chances of completing an upgrade effectively.

You must have the proper number of cores in order to do a normal upgrade. Click the button next to the item you'd like to upgrade after you have the cores. The upgrade window will show a percentage indicator of your chances of success. The percentage is based on the upgrade level and type of the item you have selected.
You can also select the option of a security feature for your item which will safeguard the item in the event of failure. This protection isn't free however, it will cost less than purchasing a new item. The safeguard is only valid only once per upgrade and will last until it is used again.

The arrows to the left of the UI represent the various stages in the upgrade process. If you're not certain what you're doing, hit the question mark to seek assistance. The upgrade could take five minutes.
