The ability to upgrade items allows players to upgrade their weapons and gear by adding new affixes, boosting the base stats of the item or providing additional benefits. To upgrade items, players must have the item in their inventory and have access to the kiln.

Usually items with weak bases (like rings) can be upgraded to a more powerful base, while objects with strong bases, such as Eth titans don't change significantly in their stats after being upgraded.

Upgrade components

Upgrade components can be used to upgrade trinkets, weapons, armor and tools for gathering, offering an attribute bonus or additional impact when the equipment is used. They can be bought from vendors, or found in loot from enemies, or received from chests and missions. Some upgrades can have additional cosmetic effects. Most upgrades require the equipment to be above a certain level before they can be upgraded.

To upgrade the quality of a weapon or piece armor, the player has to choose it and click on the Upgrade button on the toolbar. This will show a preview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected upgrade statistics will be, as well as the necessary component or material needed to make that happen.

There are three kinds of universal upgrades (which include gems), prefix upgrades, and suffix upgrade components. Universal upgrades, which include gems, can be put in any kind of equipment and provide smaller bonuses than upgrade components that are restricted to a specific type. Leveling

To determine if a product is worth upgrading, players must click the Upgrade button in the screen of their character. The item will be displayed with its attributes, along with the required items to upgrade it. To upgrade the No-mouth face for instance, 1.1K Scrap Materials will be required, as well as 250 Enchanted Dust and 5 Glowing Shards.
