Upgrade components
In Guild Wars 2, an item upgrade is a way to boost the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished by various methods such as the use of upgrade components and also upgrading an item's mark levels or rarity. Many items can also be reforged to increase their stats.
Upgradeable items are available in the game, both within the world and as rewards for missions. They can also be made by players. The primary method to upgrade equipment is through the use of upgrade components, which are the items that can be inserted into equipment. The majority of equipment comes with slots to upgrade, and many require a certain amount of upgrade. Certain upgrade components offer specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.
There are a variety of upgrade components that are available in the game. These include universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, like gemstones and enchantments can be placed on any type of equipment and offer lower bonuses than upgrades that are specific to equipment. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, ranging from increasing the speed at which an item gathers to providing additional crafting materials.
Select the item in your inventory, and then open the Upgrade window. The window will show an overview on the right side of the screen that shows what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, as well as any necessary components or materials. The Upgrade button at the bottom will read Blocked if you don't have enough of either.
The upper-right side of the screen shows the amount of upgrade components needed for a particular item. The cost of upgrading increases with the level of the upgrade and its rarity, but it can be reduced through various methods, such as buying upgrades from a vendor or trading them to other players.
Most weapons can be upgraded by an upgrade to a prefix, such as an insignia or rune, and many can be upgraded with suffix upgrades. These upgrades add an adjective to the item's name, such as "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are a powerful tool to communicate visual information. They move to draw the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in communicating a linguistic barrier-crossing message. Glyphs also improve the recall of the message by triggering an emotional connection in the brain.
Each glyph has a range of values it can improve a stat by, as shown on the item when you open the glyph in the Glyph Storage or when you use them to enchant an artifact. This is not the exact amount at the glyph can increase the stat, but rather the maximum amount it can do so. The value of the glyph depends on the tier as well as the quality of the product you are in awe of.
The majority of upgrade components that are added to items cannot be removed or replaced without dismantling them, with the exception of legendary upgrades and equipment. If you do have a non-useful rune or glyph that hasn't yet been applied to your gear, you can move it to a different piece of gear by using the upgrade Item Glyphs context menu on the Glyphs panel. This will create a Glyph Set that includes the chosen glyph.
If you wish to remove a glyph from a piece of, you will need to salvage it using a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item on which the glyph is placed will be destroyed, however the upgraded item can be salvaged by removing the glyph fragments.
If you take an item off after adding a glyph, the shards from the glyph will disappear. You can also place a glyph on your equipment to increase its value. Deferred Damage, for example can store damage, and then be dealt out slowly to the wearer rather than all at once. This is helpful for players who are taking a lot of damage from enemies however do not want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens can be used to alter the affixes that are placed on weapons and other equipment. They can be obtained from many sources, including mysterious boxes or rare drops from skulled monsters or by killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens can also be a good option to reroll stats on weapons, which can be upgraded to provide better damage or additional perks.
Items that have been rerolled will not appear in the upgrade menu, however, they are still eligible to receive upgrades. These rerolled items are able to be recycled by pressing the "upgrade" button that alters the appearance of the window and allows up to six items to be chosen to recycle. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined based on the item's rarity as well as its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable for recycling than lower-leveled ones.
In addition to reroll tokens players can also use Star Remnants and Reroll Tokens to roll the weapon traits of an upgraded unit. Rerolls will determine the % chance of a particular weapon trait. If it rolls higher, the weapon will be upgraded, and if it is lower, it remains the same. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolling is an excellent method to improve an Best item upgrade. However, players must be aware of the fact that the total ilvl will be reduced by the number the rerolls required to bring it to the final level. This is evident on Rings and Diadems because they are the only options for raising ilvl.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's better to allow people to pay for it using money or food items that will allow players to make changes to their builds without having to spend excessive amounts of time. The developers aren't planning to offer paid rerolls in this stage in the game's development. Instead, they're planning include a race change potion in the future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to boost the value of an upgrade for an item. The first way to level up an upgrade to an item is to increase the upgrade amount. This increases the upgrade value for a stat. The second is to boost the upgrade effect that increases the damage or heal of a particular stat. The base item can be upgraded to an advanced upgrade type. The new item upgrader mod will retain its iLevel but be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
When you upgrade items, it is important to remember that upgrades are not guaranteed. In addition the iLevel of the upgrade will be determined by the item type, so if you upgrade a rare or unique item to a unique type, it has a chance to get an increased iLevel.
Upgrades can be expensive Particularly if you're upgrading your equipment from the standard track to the legendary. The cost will depend on the item's base iLevel and the amount of upgrade levels it comes with. Some upgrade tracks also require crests to reach the next level.
If you're fortunate, your upgraded item may get to the top of its upgrade track and gain an additional benefit. This will give the item a significant upgrade value. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. In general, the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.
