Guild Wars 2 Item Upgrade
Item upgrade, commonly known as "upping," improves an item's stats. Each upgrade increment boosts a stat linearly.
Players can recycle up to six items at once to gain a level gauge for each of the item's upgraded components. The cost of recycling a piece of equipment increases according to their rarity and level.
Upgrade components
An upgrade for an item in Guild Wars 2 is a procedure that can improve the stats of your weapons and armor. This can be accomplished in a variety of ways, including by using upgrade components or increasing the rarity of an item level upgrade or its mark level. Additionally, many items can be reforged, which could boost their stats even more.
You can find upgradeable items throughout the game. They are available throughout all over the world and are rewards for missions. Players can also craft them. Upgrade components are the main method of upgrading equipment. These are items that can slot into equipment. Most equipment comes with upgrade slots, and most require a certain upgrade level. Some upgrade components give specific bonuses while others give a general bonus.
There are many types of upgrade elements in the game, including universal upgrades, inscriptions, and jewels. Universal upgrades, such as gemstones and enchantments can be used in any type of equipment and offer fewer bonuses than those that are type specific. Glyphs are only available on gathering tools. They provide a variety bonuses, from increasing the speed of an item's gathering to supplying additional crafting materials.
To upgrade an item, click it from your inventory and open the Upgrade window. This will display an overview on the right side of the screen showing what the expected stats will be after the upgrade, along with any materials or components required. If you don't possess enough of either, the Upgrade button will show as Blocked.
The amount of upgrade components required for a particular item is displayed in the upper-right corner of the window for upgrading. The price of an upgrade increases depending on the rarity and level of the item upgrader increases. However you can lower this cost by purchasing upgrades from a merchant, or trading them with other players.
Nearly all weapons can be upgraded using the use of a prefix upgrade, such as an insignia, or a rune. Many are upgraded by an upgrade suffix. These upgrades include an adjective in the name of the item for example "Radiant" or "Minor Vigor".
Glyphs
Glyphs are an effective tool to communicate visual information. They are animated to draw the attention of the viewer and stimulate curiosity. The animation of glyphs mimics the body language and makes them more effective in transmitting the message of a language barrier. Glyphs can also increase the likelihood of remembering the message by triggering an experience of familiarity in the brain.
Each glyph can increase the value of a stat by a certain amount. This is shown on the item when you open it in the Glyph Storage. This isn't the actual amount by which the glyph will increase a stat, but the maximum amount by which it can increase a stat. The value of the glyph will depend on the tier as well as the quality of the item you are enchanting.
The majority of upgrade components that are installed into items cannot be removed or replaced without removing them except for legendary equipment and upgrades. If you have a glyph or rune you do not want to use, but it hasn't been applied to the gear yet, you can move the item upgrader kit to a different piece by using the Upgrade Glyphs menu within the Glyphs Panel. This will create the new Glyph Set with the selected glyph.
If you are looking to remove a glyph from a piece of, you will need to salvage it using the help of a Black Lion Salvage Kit or Ascended Salvage Tool. The item where the glyph is placed will be destroyed, but the upgraded item can be recovered by removing the glyph fragments.
When you take away an item after putting a glyph on it, the shards that are part of that glyph will disappear. You can also add an inscription on your equipment to provide an extra benefit. For instance, the glyph Deferred Damage can store damage for the wearer and then deal it out slowly instead of all at once. This is beneficial for players who are taking lots of damage from their enemies but don't want to be overwhelmed.
Reroll tokens
Reroll tokens allow players to change the affixes of their equipment and weapons, and can be found in a variety of ways, including in mistery boxes or as rare drops from skulled creatures, or from killing bosses. Each reroll provides the player with an affix randomly chosen and typically better than what they had before. Reroll tokens are also a good way to reroll weapon stats and can be upgraded to provide better damage or other perks.
Rerolled items don't appear on the menu for upgrade options, however they are still able to be upgraded. When you press the "upgrade button", you can recycle these items that have been rerolled. This will change the design of the item's window, and allow up to six items be selected for recycling. The level gauge is increased by recycling an item. The amount is determined by the item's rarity and its level. Thus, items with higher levels are more valuable to recycle than lower-leveled ones.
Players can also use Reroll Tokens and Star Remnants to roll rerolling Weapon Traits to upgrade units. Rerolls will roll a % chance of a weapon's traits. If it rolls higher, the weapon is upgraded. If it is lower the weapon remains as is. Weapons can be upgraded up to three times.
Rerolls are a good option to upgrade an item, but users should be aware that it can reduce the total ilvl of the weapon due to the number of rerolls needed to increase the weapon to its ultimate ilvl. This lowering effect is most effective with ring items and Diadems that don't have alternatives to raise their ilvls.
Players have complained that the reroll system is too expensive. It's more fair to let people pay for it using money or food items which would allow players to make adjustments to their builds without spending too much time. The developers aren't planning to implement paid rerolls at this point in the game's development. They're planning to include an ingredient that allows players to change their race in the near future.
Leveling
There are a variety of ways to upgrade an item. The most effective method to level up an upgrade item to an item is by increasing the amount of upgrade. This increases the upgrade value for a stat. The second is to increase the effect of upgrading, which increases the healing or damage of a specific stat. Additionally, there is the ability to upgrade the base item to an upgrade type. The upgraded item will maintain its iLevel, but will be upgraded to reflect the effects of the upgraded item.
It is crucial to remember that upgrades can be random. In the majority of cases, a better roll is based on the glyphs. However there are instances when a more or unique roll could occur. The item type will also determine the iLevel. If you upgrade a unique or rare item to a specific kind of item, it has a chance of gaining an additional level.
Upgrades can be costly Particularly if you're upgrading gear from the standard track to legendary. The cost of upgrading an item will be contingent on the base iLevel and the number of levels to upgrade. In addition, some upgrade tracks require crests in order to achieve the next upgrade level.
If you're fortunate the upgraded item could reach the maximum level on its upgrade track and unlock an additional benefit. This will increase the item's upgrade value. The bonus effect is different with each upgrade level. Generally speaking the upgrade effect is increased by a value of +3.
The iLevel can also change depending on the item's upgrade path and base level. For example, an item that is upgraded from being a rare or exclusive item to an extraordinary one is likely to gain the Enhanced Defense of the new base item.
