WoW Upgrades - The Item Upgrader
Upgrades will give you a boost to certain stats. Each upgrade boosts the level of an item by +3. A random substat is also boosted alongside each upgrade.
Upgraded gear is generally more valuable, unless the item is not required by nature (like FB sorc shields) or has a large variance in stats (like eth Titan weapons). Upgrades are not as useful for those with lower requirements due to the need to roll a perfect version.
Recycle Points
The item upgrader mod upgrader allows players to upgrade their gear by offering the currency to an NPC. Upgrades can be applied to any type of armor or weapons. The item used to upgrade the item will be consumed and can't be used again. Upgrades can be used to create the enchantments.
The upgrader can be found in every major city, and can be accessed anytime to upgrade item your gear. To ensure that your equipment is up-to-date it is recommended that you visit the upgrader every several weeks.
The cost of upgrades will vary based on the current level of the equipment being upgraded however, they will always be less expensive than buying new gear from other sources. Upgrades like upgrading a Benthic chest up to the level of ilvl385 will cost you 20 recycle points. Buying a similar item will cost you 105.
Valorstones
Upgrades are items that can be used to upgrade tools, armor, weapon and accessory upgrades. They are purchased by players from item upgrader NPCs in exchange for a variety of currencies, and may also be found in random treasure lists. Once an upgrade has been purchased it can be used on any weapon or tool with a button, which will display an item's preview at the next upgrade level in the event that the player has enough materials.
The upgrade cost depends on the item slot and the current level of the item, with weapons costing more than gloves or bracers, for example. Each upgrade cost 15 Flightstones and a few crests, with some upgrades having a discount to lower the cost of Flightstones or crests used. After an item has been upgraded to a certain degree it is able to be degraded and sold back to the upgrader for a lesser amount of the two currency types.
Upgraders for items can be found at many locations on the main island as well as some outposts. The NPCs offer both an upgrade coupon and the chance to obtain a new recipe. The discount for upgrades increases depending on the amount of items that are being upgraded. It is also possible to be boosted by requiring players to complete specific achievements or quests.
In contrast to Cromwell in Baldur's Gate II is no item upgrader available at the beginning of Icewind Dale. Instead the NPCs that are available to facilitate upgrades must be acquired through a variety of means that are both an improvement but also a drawback.
In Season 3 the upgrade system was modified a bit, and several new features added. After the player has upgraded to a certain level of item for an armor slot upgrading other items to the same item level, will cost less. This applies regardless of whether the items come from an entirely different set of equipment.
The discount is available to all accounts. The amount of Harbinger Crests required to upgrade is reduced also, but is only available after certain milestones have been reached.
Crests
Players have a variety of options when it comes to upgrading their gear in WoW. Flightstones are a currency that is available to everyone for upgrading. Crests are more special and are used for specific item level Upgrade level upgrades. Crests are an essential part of the Dragonflight gear progression system, which was introduced in 10.1, and come in four ranks.
First, you must be aware that Crests are only available to equipment that is with a certain rank. Each rank has distinct upgrade paths. The simplest and simplest upgrade path costs 15 crests, while the more complex one requires as many as 20 crests, based on the kind of gear being upgraded.
Players can earn crests through working through tasks at the appropriate level. This could mean doing outdoor activities or doing dungeons or raids in all difficulty levels to obtain lower-level gear or Mythicbosses for raids, or dungeons with heroic difficulty for endgame gear. These crests can then be exchanged at an item upgrader NPC, such as Cuzolth in Dornogal or Vaskarn in Valdrakken to obtain the appropriate upgrade item paths and steps.
The use of these currencies isn't too complicated, but the system will introduce a few modifications to the upgrade process. Once a piece of gear has reached the highest level of upgrade for any rank (Explorer or Adventurer), it will no longer require Flightstones. This change is designed to allow players to upgrade their gear up to the highest ilvl possible on all their characters rather than relying solely on seasonal loot.
Another important modification is that crests have one use and it's crucial to make use of them in a responsible manner. For instance, it's a good idea to utilize all of your Whelpling rank crests on the best gear you have available and then keep Drake and Wyrm crests for the next round of upgrades you plan to make. This is especially relevant for trinkets and rings that occupy multiple slots on the character that will be able to take advantage of the discount for all accounts when all of the slots are full of high-quality gear.
